Red Dot Sight
The Red Dot Sight is a reflex optic designed for fast, accurate target acquisition in close to medium-range combat or tactical scenarios. It projects a red (or sometimes green) illuminated dot reticle onto a lens, which the shooter aligns with the target. Unlike iron sights, red dot sights allow the operator to aim with both eyes open, maintaining full situational awareness and rapid target tracking—critical in dynamic and fast-evolving operational environments.
In military and police use, red dot sights are mounted on rifles, carbines, and even submachine guns or shotguns. Their parallax-free design ensures the dot remains on target regardless of the operator’s eye position, allowing for reflexive shooting under high stress or poor lighting. Modern red dot optics often include features such as adjustable brightness levels, night vision compatibility, battery-saving auto shut-off, and ruggedized waterproof housings.
